As Miss Beelzebub Likes it

Entering 2019, As Miss Beelzebub Likes it was the first anime I finished. It was a cute story, though it was not what I had expected. When I think of a romance anime I normally think of awkward confessionals like Toradora, with a mix of love/hate like Wolf Girl and The Black Prince, with a hint of cuteness like Maid-Sama. Which Mullin and Bee gave me minus the confessional in the last episode. It is a short, one season series with 12 episodes. Each episode although, seems like two mini episodes in between. So the lack of a confessional may be due to the lack of a story itself (disclaimer: I have not read the manga yet). It is pretty obvious that Mullin likes Bee but his feelings are never narrated whether or not if they are deeper than that, where as Bee's feelings in the end when she tries to put them into words at the cherry blossom viewing that she indeed is in love with him. It was then cleared up that the entire point of the series is how she fell in love with him in the first place. It is overall a cute anime, I just wish the plot had more depth. Bee was not the only one in this story who was not able to confess their love. For example, Belphegor to Azazel, Sargantanas to her love of cute things and possibly a potential interest in Astaroth, and lastly Eurynome to Dantalion. It is also full of satire for anyone who is able to catch most of the irony in this cute fluffy tale. Overall I rate it a 4 out of 5, it is full of fluff and stuff, very cute anime, the art work parallel's with the theme of being adorable. The missing star is due to the reasons I previously stated but I still would recommend it on my list of romance genres. Do I think there will be a second season? No. Unless the next season resolves the current relations that still stand I doubt it, and consider this a one hit wonder.
